In 2014 and 2015, the New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami invited me to guest compose and perform with them in two separate concerts, the first time a visiting artist had been invited twice. I wrote original music for symphony orchestra and myself as solo vocalist/synthesist and worked with Vasily Shalashov as orchestrator to refine and produce the final sheet music. When returning in 2015, I turned up the heat a bit and co-wrote a piece with composer Ian Dicke to collaborate on the piece “Catchphrase,” written specifically for live-sampling & manipulating the orchestra in real time on the Elektron Octatrack. Two of the coolest gigs I’ve ever done!

“Catchphrase,” by Ian Dicke and Richard Haig, 2015; Richard Haig soloist on Octatrack sampler/sequencer realtime input from orchestra; New World Symphony Orchestra; Christian Reif conductor; 2015.
“One Last Feeling” by Richard Haig, 2014. Composed for sampler/sequencer, vocal soloist, and orchestra. Unfortunately the audio from the orchestra was not properly recorded at concert time so this is an audio demo.
